About Perfect Surroundings

I have been designing gardens for over 20 years throughout East Anglia and the home counties.

I have learnt that the most successful gardens are created when my clients feel part of the design team.  Thiis co-operative relationship has proved to be a great success and the vast majority of my work comes through recommendations

I have worked on a huge variety of projects, differing in size and style ranging from town gardens to large country properties of several acres.  My designs have won gold awards at shows including the Royal Norfolk Show and Sandringham Flower show.

My professional training has been in both design and horticulture and I take pride in selecting high quality, unusual plants and mature trees if my clients wish.  I can also provide a team of expert landscapers  who I have worked with for more than 10 years. 

If a client wishes I am happy to give advice on a consulatation basis to allow them to decide if a full design is what they require. On completion of a project, i am also available for follow up visits and maintenance advice.

Before consulting the designer

It is always helpful  before I visit, if you can collect some illustrations which help me to visualize what you are aiming for. Either from books, magazines or photos. It is also useful to compile a list of what you want your garden to do for you, maybe favourite plants or plants you dislike.
Consider if you want water in any form, any allergies I should know about and what, if any, pieces of sculpture, pots or other items you want to include. Its also important to know how much time you have available to spend on the garden (be realistic!) and most importantly, your budget.
